4-4-10 AM: Ressurection and Judgement

Acts 17:22-34 ²²Then Paul stood in the midst of Mars’ hill, and said, Ye men of Athens, I perceive that in all things ye are too superstitious. ²³For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you.

I.          Ignorantly but honestly.  Honest about the fact they do not know Him.

II.        Knowing Jesus is Everything

John 17:3   And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.  

1 John 2:3-4   And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his  commandments. {4} He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments,  is a liar, and the truth is not in him.  

²⁴God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands

III.       God dwells in His people – You can see God in everything, but your best opportunity to see Him is in His people

Colossians 1:27 ²⁷To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:

1 Corinthians 3:16-17 ¹⁶Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? ¹⁷If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.

John 17:22 through John 17:23 ²²And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: ²³I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.

²⁵Neither is worshipped with men’s hands, as though he needed any thing,

IV.       He needs Nothing

Psalm 50:10-12 ¹⁰For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills.  ¹¹I know all the fowls of the mountains: and the wild beasts of the field are mine.  ¹²If I were hungry, I would not tell thee: for the world is mine, and the fullness thereof.

^25bseeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things;

V.        He gives all things to enjoy, and He is a good Father to help us not get hurt

1 Timothy 6:17 ¹⁷Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;

²⁶And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth,

and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;

VI.       He made us all of one blood.  He has a spot on this planet for you.  He knows the circumstances at this point in our history as a nation, at this point in your employeer’s history, your family’s history, your children’s history, your marriage’s history, and your history.  He has determined these times before they were ever appointed.

²⁷That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us:

VIII.    His purpose for all these things is that you might seek Him and find Him!!!!

²⁸For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said,

IX.       Everything comes from Him

Colossians 1:16-17 ¹⁶For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: ¹⁷And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

^28bFor we are also his offspring.

X.        We are His offspring

²⁹Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man’s device.

XI.       We don’t get to decide what God is like.  Neither does grand-paw or ma-maw or thre priest or preacher or monk or prophet or commentator or talk show host or president. 

³⁰And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:

XII.     Repent!!!!!

³¹Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.

XIII.    His resurrection says Judgment Day is Coming
