Text:  Ezekiel 47:1-5

 

I.          Waters to the Ankles: Don’t Get Drunk with Wine

 

Ephesians 5:18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit

 

A.        Wine alters your vision/judgment

 

            Isaiah 28:7  But they also have erred through wine, and through strong drink are out of the way; the priest and the prophet have erred through strong drink, they are swallowed up of wine, they are out of the way through strong drink; they err in vision, they stumble in judgment.

 

B.        Alters your voice

 

Acts 2:5-8 And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven. 6Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language. 7And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans? 8And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born?


Acts 2:13 Others mocking said, These men are full of new wine.

 

C.        Alters your behavior

 

Isaiah 29:9 Stay yourselves, and wonder; cry ye out, and cry: they are drunken, but not with wine; they stagger, but not with strong drink.

 

D.        Alters your Attitude

 

Proverbs 31:6-7 Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, and wine unto those that be of heavy hearts. 7Let him drink, and forget his poverty, and remember his misery no more.

 

E.         Alters Your Emotions – Ps 104:15, Ecc 10:19


Psalm 104:15 And wine that maketh glad the heart of man, and oil to make his face to shine, and bread which strengtheneth man’s heart.

 

II.        A man’s Love for his wife is better than wine


Song of Songs 1:2 Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth: for thy love is better than wine.

 

III.       God gives this secrete to husbands (The only tool in your toolbox)

 

Ephesians 5:25 25Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it

 

IV.       Water to the Knees: A Husband’s Love for His Wife (Not just a man’s for a woman) Will

 

A.        Alter her vision/judgment

B.        Alter her voice

C.        Alter her behavior

D.        Alter her Attitude

E.         Alter her Emotions

 

V.        Water to the Loins: Deeper Truth from the Song:  Jesus’ Love for Us is better than wine

 

2 Corinthians 5:14 For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead:

 

A.        Vision/judgment – His love for us opened our eyes

 

1.         We could see our sin.

2.         We can see the need of sinners.

3.         We can see the dangers of the World

 

B.        Voice – His love for us changed our speech

 

1.         Gives us a seasoning of Grace in our words.

2.         Causes us to be slow to speak.

3.         Compels us to tell the world

 

C.        Behavior –

 

1.         We give

2.         We learn

3.         We obey

4.         We get up early

5.         We deny the flesh

6.         We war against our worldly desires

 

D.        Attitude

 

1.         We Love our enemies

2.         We are slow to wrath

3.         We have compassion on the sinners

4.         We are patient with those we perceive are not as Mature as we are.

5.         We put other’s needs above our own

 

E.         Emotions

 

1.         We have joy

2.         We have Peace
