1 Samuel 16:21 And David came to Saul, and stood before him: and he loved him greatly; and he became his armourbearer.

I.          Saul has an evil spirit from the Lord – 1 Sam 16:14-15

II.         Saul eyed David – 1 Sam 18:7-8

III.       David avoids Saul’s javelin twice – 1 Sam 18:10-11

IV.       David demoted to captain over 1000 – 1 Sam 18:5; 1 Sam 18:13

V.        Saul promises David his oldest daughter in an effort to get David killed in battle then gives her to another man – 1 Sam 18:17-19

VI.       Saul gives David another daughter and tries to kill him with the dowry – 1 Kings 18:21-27

VII.      Saul was David’s enemy – 1 Sam 19:29

VIII.     Saul tries to kill David with a javelin again – 1 Sam 19:10

IX.       Saul’s hatred to David is so intense that he attempts to kill his own son for being David’s advocate – 1 Sam 20:33
