Children and the Kingdom of God

Mark 10:13-16 13And they brought young children to him, that he should touch them: and his disciples rebuked those that brought them. 14But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God. 15Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein. 16And he took them up in his arms, put his hands upon them, and blessed them.

I.          Believe Everything Dad or Mom Tells Them. –

Ezekiel 37:1-3 The hand of the LORD was upon me, and carried me out in the spirit of the LORD, and set me down in the midst of the valley which was full of bones, 2And caused me to pass by them round about: and, behold, there were very many in the open valley; and, lo, they were very dry. 3And he said unto me, Son of man, can these bones live? And I answered, O Lord GOD, thou knowest.

John 6:66-69 From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him. 67Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away? 68Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life. 69And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God.

Mark 16:15 15And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

II.        Forgive Easy - We put more value on me and my hurt than on reconciliation

Matthew 6:15 15But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

III.       Sing Loud (We think our skill matters.)

            Psalm 33:3 3    Sing unto him a new song; play skilfully with a loud noise.

Psalm 98:4 4    Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise.

Hebrews 13:15 15By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.

IV.       Not Suspicious; Trustful (gullible) – Must be taught “don’t talk to strangers”.  Because they are simple concerning evil

Romans 16:19 19For your obedience is come abroad unto all men. I am glad therefore on your behalf: but yet I would have you wise unto that which is good, and simple concerning evil.

V.        Transparent

Luke 11:37-44 And as he spake, a certain Pharisee besought him to dine with him: and he went in, and sat down to meat. 38And when the Pharisee saw it, he marvelled that he had not first washed before dinner. 39And the Lord said unto him, Now do ye Pharisees make clean the outside of the cup and the platter; but your inward part is full of ravening and wickedness. 40Ye fools, did not he that made that which is without make that which is within also? 41But rather give alms of such things as ye have; and, behold, all things are clean unto you. 42But woe unto you, Pharisees! for ye tithe mint and rue and all manner of herbs, and pass over judgment and the love of God: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone. 43Woe unto you, Pharisees! for ye love the uppermost seats in the synagogues, and greetings in the markets. 44Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are as graves which appear not, and the men that walk over them are not aware of them.

VI.       Fear Spankings for self and others

Hebrews 10:31 31It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

Luke 12:4-5 And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. 5But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.

Psalm 25:14 The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will show them his covenant.

Psalm 33:18 Behold, the eye of the LORD is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy;

Psalm 34:7 The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.

Psalm 34:9 O fear the LORD, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him.

Psalm 85:9 Surely his salvation is nigh them that fear him; that glory may dwell in our land.

Psalm 103:11 For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him.

Psalm 103:17 But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children’s children;

Psalm 111:5 He hath given meat unto them that fear him: he will ever be mindful of his covenant.

Psalm 145:19 He will fulfil the desire of them that fear him: he also will hear their cry, and will save them.

Psalm 147:11 The LORD taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.

VII.     Love Playing or Working with Dad and Mom

Matthew 28:16-20 Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them. 17And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted. 18And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. 19Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
