Our Sin Attitude

Text: Deut 6:4-7

I.         If Mom and Dad do it, it must be right.  You are what they know about God.  Why are muslims muslims etc

Matt. 18:6 But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.

II.        How Many Things are your children going to have to “unlearn” to be right with God. 

Luke 6:43-44 For a good tree bringeth not forth corrupt fruit; neither doth a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. ⁴⁴For every tree is known by his own fruit. For of thorns men do not gather figs, nor of a bramble bush gather they grapes.

II.        Your sin is Killing Your Children

Rom. 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

III.       We have slandered God with our Hypocritical Behaviour.  They are angry at and do not want your God. 

Eph. 6:4 And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

IV.      The Danger of Going to a Biblical Church. 

James 1:22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

A.        If the preacher is giving opinion, watching you ignore it is no big deal.  Watching you ignore God’s Word has an effect on them.  The most dangerous preaching your children will ever hear is the preaching they watch you ignore.

B.        Reach a certain age OK to sin

IV.      Why do we do this when we know our Children Suffer for It?  I like my sin.  Who besides you is paying for it. – through the Fire
